Wondering...

Is there a word, a single word, for when you have such diverse and opposite feelings at the same time? The feeling of having one foot in freezing water and the other foot in hot water. It is the feeling you get in your middle "area."

That is where I am today. Much frustration and much satisfaction.

Maybe it is called JOY...

One word that has been given to it is "sublime"...involving the conflation of pleasure and pain.

It is an interesting feeling, no doubt. An important one because it compels action and moral reflection.

Tony,
I am sure you know how it is. You’re bored, sitting around in your underwear and surfing around the Web. You look up one thing and it leads to another and it leads to another. Before I knew it, who should appear before me but Tony Biasell? What a wonderful, unexpected surprise!
It’s all the more fitting because I am writing this from the island of Sicily, just back from a hearty dinner at a small trattoria. I have been here for about a month now, and have way too much free time on my hands, as evidenced by the previous paragraph.
Just wanted to drop a line and say Hi. I cannot count the number of times in a day that I think about Bass Lake and Oakhurst and the High Sierra and C.C. and Summit and all the wonderful memories that I have. It seems like I just left, but it’s been over two years.
I am sure you are right in the middle of another busy summer. Best wishes, and I hope and pray that this summer will be one of joy and peace.
Ciao,
Spinner (in Italian, Spinner is translated "Filatore")

I hesitate to think what word would direct you to me. But then I hesitate to think most of my life...
