The witches of Macbeth...

There are people in life who never do anything but conjure up troubles for others. They sit at a distance and brew over what others are doing and speak ill of them. I've met them. They cackle out their distain for people who are trying but these witches never try. It is easy to cast spells on others from a distance but never reach out to help. They have opinions but never get to the truth. They crash parties and rarely do they bring a dish. They throw darts that prick and distract.
Useless. Friction. Tiring.

To misquote Carly Simon, They're so vain, they probably think this blog is about them...

I need to get better at sitting on the sidelines. Garlic fries would help.

I dare you to love the witches of Macbeth!

On the rare occasions that I have managed to accomplish this feat, my life has been blessed!

I can only hope it has made a difference in some of their lives as well.

P.S. Mmmmm Garlic Fries

In the last few posts you've made pot shots at anonymous people. I suppose that's somehow more noble than naming someone anonymously. But this blog is obviously about us because we're you material. If it's not, quit mentioning us. Quit posting about us. Quit making insinuations about us. Why am I one? Because you've profiled me that way. Perhaps it's more vain to continue telling me what I've done wrong after I've apologized (remember our private emails? Our interviews?) If it's not about us, just quit mentioning us. You have the power - you're the one typing.

Bubble bubble toil and trouble,

James Orr. I have no need to be anonymous.

James,
I appreciate you signing your name but it has nothing to do with you. And yes, I remember the emails. I have stuck to my end of the bargain as you have.

This was written after a sad, long conversations with a very dear friend from the East Coast, who was getting shot up pretty badly from people who did nothing but condemn him. He is a very good man who doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. This conversation followed another conversation with a youth pastor friend of mine who is getting destroyed by sideliners and non participants who want him out because of some good decisions he made.

I use metaphors that could cause some people to falsely identify themselves. I was being cute by using Carly Simon's song, substituting "blog" for "song." It was not meant to point anyone out.

I did not mention you. Did I? And you are not "my material." I don't think there is a conspiracy nor do I care that there's a group of people who think every time I say something they think it is about them. I have too many enemies to just think about a few.

And I write a lot about other things than that which you mention. Live well, my friend.

However, I appreciated Bill E's response. And everyone else's who identified more with the garlic fries than with the blog. To which makes me very fond of them.
