I need some time of listening...

Where do you go when you need to pray, listen, wait?

My cubicle, my bathroom, my parent's back yard, Calvin Crest, the closet (no distractions), my bed, the arms of a loving friend or family member, the shower, my car, or any other place that I can find a precious moment of peace.

Tony, I pray God shows you your perfect sanctuary(s).
Peace be with you!

Somewhere that I can be alone. Usually this means beside the sea, in the mountains, or the middle of an empty field, but it also can be in the midst of a busy coffee shop (where no one knows me, of course). There is something about being able to step away or outside of the world when I need to listen and wait for God.

I liked to drive near where you are Tony. To take the "short cuts" to the Valley that went through Raymond, or back ways up through Beasore.

I also liked going to the big trees behind camp.

The waterfall on the Gethsemane trail, long walks, my bed right before I go to sleep, driving up to New England, my office when no one else is around

For me, anywhere in nature, where I can be alone, and preferably under a clear night sky. For Sufjan Stevens, I would recommend listening to "Illinoise" it is his latest cd, and I like it a lot.
I hope that you will find your place to wait, listen, and be filled.

The bridge spanning the small stream at the mass wasting site. You can hear the water flowing down the waterfall and crashing into the rocks. It's a good place.

My friends say this to me: "Are you in your cave again?" My cave is not a place, it is a state of being. Only Jesus is invited in. And I stay there as long as I need to.

As I read this comments, I find myself agreeing with some of the places. The waterfall at California Creek is beautiful. Peace inspiring - once I was there and was simply overwhelmed and had no inclination to worry anymore. A more personal favorite is the bench on the Manzeneta Trail. I call it "my transitioning spot". And funny thing... I'm listening to Sufjan Stevens "Michigan" right now...
